So I guess I'm a blogger now

Back in school, all my teachers used to say you have to write every day if you want to be a good writer. So this is my attempt to do my teachers proud. I'm not promising to write every single day, but I'll write often. Maybe even twice on a special day when I'm feeling a little crazy and unpredictable. I'm also not going to pretend that there are many people out there who would read it even if I did. Well, probably my mom. And my husband if he knows what's good for him.

I have to give props to my hubby for coming up with the title for my blog -- MacAlpine Genuine Draft. It's downright witty if you think about it. See, we both love beer so it works nicely on that level. Plus I'm a writer, so these are my drafts. Pure genius. I love my husband. That's him in the picture with my dog, Layla. She's a mess, but she's ours.

So, what do I have worthy of taking up your time with today? How about the Braves. I love the Braves. Have since I moved to Georgia when I was a kid. Today I watched their last game of the season and for the first time since 1990, that's it. No postseason Braves baseball. I think I would be much sadder if I still lived in Georgia, so I guess that's an upside of moving to Maryland a couple months ago. My hubby and I made it a habit of going to at least one postseason game every year, and at least we don't have to be so sad about missing it this year. But the Braves did go out on a win, and they got to spoil the Astros' postseason hopes, which is cool because the Astros have taken the Braves out in the first round the last couple years. So, I guess that's it for the streak. Sad.

Well, I think that's enough for my first time blogging. Don't want to set the expectations too high. Or scare everyone at the thought of how much I'm going to ramble in these things.

Stop by often and feel free to comment. I'll keep you updated on all the wild and exciting times we have here in Maryland.

So Dad is the first comment and he didn't even get a mention of possible perspective "blog" looker atters. Guess I know where I stand Ha! Ha!. Looks pretty good, just don't get political on me or I'll have to embarrass by daughter for all to see. Keep it up. Love you Dad
