A Happy Birthday indeed

Thanks for all the various birthday wishes -- by phone and card and e-mail :)

I had a really nice day. I took off work a little early and came home to the scent of a fresh-baked homemade birthday cake courtesy of my hubby. A chocolate cake with chocolate frosting -- does he know me or what! Since I got home early, we decided to have cake and ice cream before dinner. Hey, you only live once, and it was delicious!

We got some free passes to Medieval Times because we signed up for Comcast during some promotional thing, so we went there for the dinner show. The show was a little hokey, but it was pretty good overall and the story was original. It is basically what you'd expect it to be, and the food was really good.

After that we met up with a couple friends from work at Dave & Buster's for a few drinks and to play some games. That was where we enjoyed cake #2 -- an unexpected treat. It was a chocolate Snicker's cake with a gooey caramel sauce in the middle and Snicker's candies on top. Ridiculous is really all I can say. Anybody want to come over for some leftover cake and ice cream?

Andy did a great job making it a special day. Originally I thought I might consider this the first of what could be several 29th birthdays, but I think I'm going to be OK with 30 and embrace it in style. Andy wants to take me to Key West for the big 3-0. That could be our last hurrah because we really gotta start thinking about this whole having kids thing. My 30th birthday's on a Saturday, so we're thinking of making it a nice, long weekend. Anyway, the invite to join us in Key West is open, so if you're interested, start planning now!

Wouldn't it be nice to be here one weekend in January 2008?
