Two weekends of Harry Potter-filled fun

Tomorrow I'm going to see the latest Harry Potter movie. I normally go on the day it opens, but didn't make it this year. So I'm going with some friends from work to the 2:30 Saturday afternoon show. I know what you're thinking -- "Wow, Saturday afternoon of opening weekend? There's gonna be a ton of kids there. Don't you want to go later?" No. I hope it's packed full of kids. And I hope at least a dozen are dressed in full Harry Potter gear. That's half the fun of it. I honestly can't wait. I'm more excited than an adult should be about these kind of things, but I just can't help it.

What am I even more excited about? The book. It comes out next Friday -- the 7th and final book in the Harry Potter series. I have mixed feelings about it. I can't wait to read it and know how it all ends, but it's really sad that it's ending. Plus, I always read them way too fast and then I get all sad when it's over.

I know, I'm ridiculous. What can I say?

Truthfully, I'm more ridiculous than you may even realize it. I'm actually going to the midnight release party at Borders on Friday. Don't judge me. It's just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. There are a billion kids running around with wands and hats and big Harry Potter glasses laughing and screaming and trying to one-up each other about how many times they've read each book. I seriously can't wait.

Don't worry, I won't be dressing up. That's where I draw the line.

Harry Potter is catching on. The kids and I went to NGC's campus a few weeks ago to watch a Quidich (spelling??) game. I'm so not in tune with Harry Potter, so I had a really hard time following, but it was quite entertaining. Dr. Corrigan is doing a summer series on the Harry Potter Series and all of his students are required to play the game. They all had a blast.
