Simpsonized!

My friend Joye showed me this fantastic web site where you can find out what you would look like as a Simpson. You just upload a photo of yourself and it does the rest. So, without further delay, here, for the first time in public ... Andy and Angie Simpson! :)

Cute, huh?

If you want to Simpsonize yourself, just go to http://www.simpsonizeme.com/. It's fun! If you don't want to upload a pic, you can create a character on your own, too.

Anyway, I finished Harry Potter last week -- after four days of obsessive reading. It was really good. I've heard some criticism about the ending (which I won't spoil for those of you still reading), but I liked it. I won't say anything else for fear of getting carried away and ruining it for someone.

Nothing much else new going on. I've got another trip to Appalachia (eastern Kentucky) coming up Aug. 6 for work. This one's for a conference about poverty in Appalachia for Christian Appalachian Project (one of the nonprofits I write fundraising copy for). Originally I was just going by myself, but then we discovered that the conference is about a three-hour drive from the airport ... through the heart of Appalachia. My boss wasn't keen on the idea either ... and since the flight was so cheap, he said somebody needed to go with me. So now Devon, a friend who works on that client too, is going. She's pretty cool ... and has actually hiked the Appalachian trail -- alone! -- so I figure she's the one I want in my car if something goes wrong out there. Um ... not to stereotype, but hey, I've seen what happens to people in the movies when their cars break down out in the country. And of course the cellphones don't work ...

I'm looking forward to an adventure ...
