My Kwik-E Trip to Springfield

That's right, that's me and Homer Simpson sharing a hot dog.

Don't have a cow, man. I went to Springfield and stopped at the Kwik-E-Mart for a hot dog, Squishee, and Sprinkle. If you never watched the Simpson's and you have no idea what I'm talking about you can at least appreciate that I got to go to one of only a dozen 7-Elevens in the whole country that have been converted to Kwik-E-Marts to celebrate the upcoming Simpson's movie (read news story here).

Here's the converted 7-Eleven from the outside.

Andy shares a moment with Chief Wiggum.

All I can say is marketing genius. They actually converted 7-Elevens into fictitious Kwik-E-Marts inside and out. For those in the dark, Squishees = Simpsons' version of Slurpees and Sprinkles are doughnuts. Yum.

I had the watermelon Jolly Rancher Squishee. Andy had Coke flavored. Prior to this, I honestly can't remember the last time I had a Slurpee.

Mmm... Sprinklicious indeed ... probably the freshest any convenience store doughnut has ever been because they keep selling out. FYI, they're the pink ones.

They call it reverse product placement. Instead of placing the product in the movie ... you place the movie in real-life products. They were even selling Krusty-Os cereal. Pure genius. Seriously. There were people packed in there taking pictures. The had already sold out of "Buzz Cola" and all the comic books. We're going back sometime to get those. They're already selling on eBay for $25. Crazy.

Andy had the day off, so he dropped by my office and picked me and a co-worker/friend up and we headed to the Kwik-E-Mart -- only about 5 miles from my office. It was honestly unbelievable. I still can't believe they went so far to market this movie. Again, all I can say is genius.
