The corned beef and cabbage was excellent, so I have to give props to my hubby for his cooking skills. If you don't know what I'm talking about ... then shame on you because you haven't been reading. Actually I guess I can't complain -- I went almost two full weeks without blogging so you probably lost a little faith in me. I'll earn back your trust though. Just wait and see. In the mean time, go ahead and read the blog below then come back. I'll wait. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
OK, now that we're all caught up -- St. Patrick's Day, corned beef and cabbage, a couple of Irish beers and even some music Andy downloaded online. But no, that wasn't enough. We wanted to go out and hear some live Irish music too and drink a couple of beers. So we invited a couple friends from work to come over and we headed to the waterfront to hit one of the local Irish pubs. Apparently everyone in Annapolis had the same idea ... and at the same time.
After about an hour of trying to find places where we could get in, we left. We drove out of town a bit to a sports-bar type place and had a couple beers and a crab pretzel. That's right, a GIANT pretzel topped with crab dip and cheese and then seasoned with Old Bay and baked. So, it didn't go according to plan, but it was a pretty cool place that we'd like to check out again.
That about wraps up the St. Patty's Day festivities. I know the story was so riveting, you're disappointed to see it go, but don't worry, I'll be back to report on many equally important details of my exciting and fast-paced life. ;)

so we decided that a bar on st. pattys day is kind of like church on easter - ridiculously crowded with people who are usually never there!
So true ... and they all feel the need to wear stupid little hats.
A few comments on St. Patrick's Day. You know that we're really into it because of our Irish folksinging friends, the Cusacks. Two years ago we were on the American Queen on the Mississippi River. The last night of the cruise happened to be St. Patrick's night. I figured there would be a really great Irish party or performance or something......it was CAJUN NIGHT1 The closest they came to Irish was the piano man thought "Peg O' My Heart" was an Irish song. THIS year... our last night on the Hawaiian cruise was St. Patrick's night. Down in te Blue Hawaiian Lounge on the ship they advertised an Irish party. We got down there and they were LINE DANCING! Sheeesh! Next year we'll go to Ireland.
