OK, no really we went to Washington, D.C. instead. And it was pretty cool. The National Tree is surrounded by trees from every state and U.S. territory. That's the Georgia one below. Plus there's this giant train set that runs around the tree. Like I said, pretty cool. Right after we got there a children's choir came out to sing. Seriously folks, it just doesn't get much more festive than that.
In the short time I've been here, I've discovered that Washington, D.C., is humbling anytime. But the Capitol building and monuments look amazing at night -- it's actually pretty surreal. We drove around quite a while and just took it all in. Everything was decorated for the holidays. It sort of felt like we were in a movie.
Here's a picture of the National Tree with the White House off behind it. Pretty crazy, huh? It's weird that we live here now -- 20 minutes from the Nation's Capital.
Here's one of the tree with the Washington Monument in the background.
Anyway, only 14 days till Christmas! Gotta go finish up my Christmas cards. I leave you with the official Maryland Christmas tree.

You are so lucky to be so close to the capitol. New York and Washington DC are top on my list of places to visit during Christmas.
