After breakfast Andy talked me into going to see the new Rocky movie. I'll admit, I'm actually a fan of the Rocky movies, but I was reluctant to see this one. In fact, when I first heard they were making a new Rocky movie I was pretty disappointed. I thought Rocky V was bad enough (and the only of the Rocky movies that I don't like) that I was baffled that they'd make another one. What more could there be to this story line - plus, he's old. I thought the believability factor of him fighting again was just too low. I forgot one crucial detail -- he's Rocky Balboa.

It was a good movie. It brought the closure with dignity that Rocky V lacked. Plus it was a compelling story and actually pretty touching and even a little sad (Yes, I got a little choked up a couple times). I recommend it if you're a fan. But if they make a Rocky VII, I'm done.
After Rocky, we stopped by to visit with Grandma Mac, then we headed out to a very nice Christmas dinner with Andy's parents. We went to a place called Edgar's at Belhurst Castle - a gorgeous place that was all decorated for Christmas. They had a fancy Christmas buffet that we topped off with eggnog cheesecake. Yeah, it's as good as it sounds.

Our drive home took much longer than we expected. We got stuck in some nasty traffic that added a couple hours to our trip. Plus we stopped at a Waffle House. There's not very many of those around here, so we got a little excited when we saw one in Pennsylvania and had to stop. Needless to say, when we finally made it home and picked up Layla, she was very excited to see us!
What can I say, I got a little bored sitting in traffic.
So that's it. That was our Christmas in New York. I know it was a riveting tale filled with drama and suspense. I'm sorry that I had to stretch it out like this and leave you hanging in between updates. That's just the kind of crazy gal I am. Oh, and I almost forgot, Andy did catch that bug from Ellie. He's been sick all day. So far, I remain unaffected ... but will I be able to hold it off much longer? ... (see there's more of that drama and suspense I was talking about)
Like I said, I got bored sitting in traffic.
Plus it's my last chance to wear a Santa hat for a whole year!
