Let the holiday parties commence

I love Christmas. I love Christmas music, Christmas lights, Christmas movies, and oh yes, Christmas parties!

Last night we went to our first party of the season. A co-worker threw a get-together at his house for all the members of his various teams. It was nice -- laid back. It had a Greek theme, which I found unusual, but also very tasty. My gift to the party was Snickers cookies. Now that's tasty. It's a peanut butter cookie with a Snicker's candy bar mini in the middle and fudge drizzled on top. If you haven't tried one of these, take my word for it. They're crazy good. (Mom and Dad MacAlpine, I'll be baking more and bringing them up to New York, so save some room! My only condition for the cookies is that there be snow this year while I'm there, so can you guys please work on that for me?)

Next weekend is our big company party. It's at some fancy hotel here in Annapolis, which is nice because it's close enough for Andy and I to have a couple cocktails and just take a cab home. I'm discovering a nice perk of working on a lot of different teams at a big company. Lots of teams = lots of holiday parties! Andy's not quite the fan I am, so fortunately he only has to go to the two big ones. He's a big of a humbug about Christmas in general, but I'm slowing wearing him down. Soon, I'll win him over completely.

Did I mention I love Christmas?
