What's better than sushi?

Free sushi! A few weeks back, on our anniversary, Andy and I went to lunch at a sushi place in Annapolis (his first time). I dropped my business card in one of those "win a free lunch" bowls and a couple weeks later, I got a call saying I won a free lunch for up to 10 people. Woo-hoo!

So, I invited my department at work (and Andy, of course) and we all took a long lunch break and drove down to Annapolis yesterday for a free lunch. The only catch was a 5-minute pitch about the importance of sound financial planning (the lunch was sponsored by Ameriprise). It was absolutely worth it.

I decided that since it was free, it was time to be more adventurous with my selections. So, I had a tuna roll, which is raw tuna, wrapped in rice then kelp (seaweed). I didn't think I'd like it when I saw it, but it was pretty tasty. I really should have been even more adventurous, but I had a couple of my standard options, too -- a California roll and Yakitori chicken (which is cheating, because it's not even sushi).

Andy tried new stuff too -- a California roll with real crab (instead of that imitation stuff), a smoked salmon roll, and a spicy tuna roll. I'm psyched he actually likes sushi. That means I might actually get to have it every now and then! :)

Wow - you are a lucky girl - some of my friends would die for free sushi. I, on the other hand, would die if I won that free lunch! I still can't bring myself to try it. Hope all is well with you and Andy.
