A big week for the little one

Last week Owen started his first week of daycare -- well it's only two days, but it feels like a week to me!

He goes Tuesdays and Wednesdays and he's home with me on Mondays and Thursdays and with his daddy on Fridays. Anyway, I dropped him off Tuesday and cried just about all the way to work. I called to check on him three times. I was worried because we were still having trouble getting him to take a bottle. The first time I called he was screaming in the background and they were having difficulty feeding him. By the second time, he'd had a bottle and was napping. And the third time was the same -- bottle and nap.

Apparently he did great and they're already all in love with him. Of course! :)

Day 2 went much better, for me at least. No tears and I only called once. Again, they said he was just perfect. In fact, his teacher said she'd never seen a baby that young who is so alert and awake for such long stretches without being fussy. He's a rock star!

Yesterday I took Little O to a gastroenterologist to see if we can knock out the reflux. After having a great week or so, Thursday and Friday were pretty awful so I was hoping to get some relief for the little guy. Unfortunately, it was very unproductive. Owen screamed the whole time and it was hard to talk with the doctor. Basically he said stay the course with the prevacid and gave me tips to keep him comfortable. He thinks it might also have something to do with me drinking milk because I had a bunch Thursday and hadn't really been drinking milk prior to that when things were going so well. So I'm cutting out dairy for a while to see if it helps again. He goes back for a follow-up in a month. Hopefully he's in better spirits at that time!

It's been so rainy and cold the past few days. I'm looking forward to the warming up next week so I can take Owen outside again!
