A couple weeks ago, Andy's brother Dan came down from New York to run the National Marathon in D.C. Yep, 26 miles of running ... voluntarily.
Andy's folks were here too and we all went down to D.C. to cheer Dan on. We took the Metro and thought Owen might be a little uneasy, but he loved it! He was wide-eyed and happy the whole time.

Owen's big trip on the Metro
After a nice long ride, we landed at the Navy Memorial/Archives to catch Dan run by. We timed it just about perfect and after waiting only about 10 minutes, he ran by and we all cheered. Well, most of us. Owen started to get fussy (nap time!) and so I was walking with him at the exact moment Dan went by and I missed him.
We decided to head to the finish line since this was mile 18 and we wanted a good spot and had no idea how long it would take us to Metro there. We did a bit of a scenic walk and took Owen's pic in a couple of cool places.

We made it to the finish line with about an hour to spare. Happily, Owen decided to take a nap. I couldn't believe it considering all the noise, but he slept for nearly an hour!
Dan crossed the finish line at about 4 hours and 40 minutes (I think). Good job, Dan.

Team Dan
We headed right back after the race (long day for the little one!). While transferring trains, Andy and everyone except Grandma Mac, Owen and I hopped on a train without realizing we weren't close enough to make it. So we got left behind. And Andy had the diaper bag along with Owen's sun hat. We made do ...

And we were all reunited a half hour later at our cars. No big deal but it was fun giving Andy a hard time for "abandoning his family".
All in all it was a great day and we were once again amazed at our little guy for being so good!
